Manhattan's commitment to providing a safe work environment for everyone involved in the project begins with our upper management team and is carried out by our onsite project staff. Our record speaks for itself. As we enter the new century, our performance has improved dramatically over the past decade. And these results are attributable to the commitment of each and every Manhattan employee to uphold our safety policy.

Putting safety first has put Manhattan in first place. Manhattan has a nationally recognized, award-winning safety program in place.  The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recognized Manhattan's outstanding safety program as number one in the country for achieving zero work site fatalities and zero multi-catastrophic injuries with more than one million work hours in building construction.  This awards program examines the contractor's safety training program, active employee involvement, evidence of management commitment, and innovation.

Experience Modifier Rating (EMR)
This modifier is used to establish actual premium rates. The average modifier within the construction industry is 1.0. Manhattan's current EMR is 0.59.

Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR)
This rate is calculated by taking the number of injuries that resulted in Lost Workdays multiplied by 200,000 then divided by the overall manhours. Manhattan's Lost Time Incident Rate is better than the industry average.
