The project is a BCOM project for George Mason Univeristy, located in Arlington, VA. The 3 below-grade levels include parking spaces, the utlitity plant, service rooms, a loading dock and storage facilities.
The at-grade level includes a large plaza with planters, varying elevations and a stage designed for educational and public assemblies. The first of seven above-grade levels includes a large auditorium, a multipurpose room with operable partitions, two food service areas and classrooms.
Levels 2 through 7 are primarily office and classroom space with the main library being featured on floors 2 and 3 with another smaller library on the 6th floor and a TV studio on the 7th floor. Following the partial construction of the B3 level and relocation of the 96" storm line, the structure's construction process will be completed, one level at a time in sequential order, followed by enclosure and finishes. |
