| Already well established in Oklahoma and Houston, Manhattan wanted to take advantage of a growing public sector market in the middle of these two areas - the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In 1963, Manhattan was successful in being awarded some very important public sector projects in Dallas - the Dallas Convention Center and Terminals 4E and 5 at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. These projects were a precursor of significant investment into public funded and private work in the Metroplex. These projects helped to establish Manhattan in the Metroplex as a highly competitive contractor and, upon completion, a builder of integrity that kept its commitments to their clients. Those early successes paved the way for the Dallas operations to become one of the company's largest markets and has led to many area high profile projects in both the public and private sectors.
Over the years, Manhattan would build such landmark DFW area projects as Thanksgiving Square, The Ballpark at Arlington, Prestonwood Baptist Church, Countrywide Home Loans Headquarters, NOKIA House, and multiple facilities for Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and WorldCom. Manhattan has grown to consistently be one of the top three general contractors in the Metroplex and serves a large repeat client base. |
