Marsh said, putting safety first is a philosophy that permeates every part of the company from the office to the field and this award recognizes all of our Oklahoma employees who have worked diligently every day making safety the number one priority.

Manhattan Construction Company’s safety excellence was honored over all companies of similar size in the state in the small business category. In the past, the council has honored the John Zink Company, York International, Mercury MerCruiser and Kerr McGee Corp.

This award comes in the wake of Manhattan Construction Company being recognized by the Associated General Contractor of America for having the “Best Overall Safety Program” in the nation in the category of over one million work hours.

In recognition of Oklahoma’s 100th birthday celebration, the Oklahoma Safety Council’s 2007 Conference was designated as an official Centennial event.
