PASADENA, Tex. - The ground breaking ceremony for the new $19 million Pasadena Police Complex was held on Wednesday, May 9th. Mayor John Manlove, city council members, the design and construction team, and future residents of the building were all in attendance.
Manhattan Construction Company will build the new home for the Pasadena Police Department. It will be approximately 81,550 square-feet. The two-story building will include 13,600 square-feet of jail space with the remaining space used for offices and common areas.
Mayor Manlove had some encouraging words for the crowd of approximately 40, expressing how proud and fortunate he was to be apart of the occasion. Mayor Manlove, the Council Members, and three members of Pasadena Police Department stood before the crowd with their Manhattan Construction Company hard hats on and shovels in hand and recognized the start of the construction of the new facility.
The facility was designed by Morris Architects. Construction officially begins on June 4th.
